Community Developm6ent for All People runs a CDF Freedom School at Lincoln Park Elementary School. Freedom Schools seek to “build strong, literate, and empowered children prepared to make a difference in themselves, their families, communities, nation and world today.” However, the work of Freedom School is not limited to the scholars themselves, but invites them to engage the world.

Students were asked what they would do with a million dollar grant. This is the plan for the Noah Foundation.

Today, the students led a day of social action around the theme of “Celebrating Healthy Kids”. Over the last six weeks these same kids learned how to make their own healthy meals through a six-week “Cooking Matters” class. Next week they will participate in a cooking demonstration and tour Mid-Ohio Food bank. Today, they shared the gifts of health they received with their families and community.

Kids learned about health from a number of partner agencies, including the National Kidney Foundation.
